The Voltaic Backpack is built tough for use as a weekend hike bag or as a large daypack. There are pockets and wire channels for multiple electronic devices and 30L of storage space.
The solar bags are mobile solar power generators designed to charge virtually all handheld electronics including: cell phones, cameras, two way radios, PDA's, and MP3s.
Embedded in the outside of the bags are three lightweight, tough, waterproof solar panels. 4 watts of power means much quicker charge times than typical portable solar chargers! 1 hour in direct sun will power over 3 hours of iPod play time or over 1.5 hours of talk time on a typical cell phone.
The bags come standard with a Li Ion battery pack which stores any surplus power generated, so it is available when you need it- not just when the sun is up. The battery pack can also be charged using an AC travel charger or car charger (both included), making Voltaic bags a practical solution, just as useful on the grid as off.
The bags include a set of 11 standard adaptors for common cell phones and other devices, plus we offer a full range of optional adaptors. Even without an adaptor plug, you can just plug in a standard car charger or USB charger.
The bags use fabrics made from recycled PET i.e. soda bottles. Recycled PET fabric is light weight, extremely durable, UV resistant and water resistant. It even looks better than the nylon it replaced. Most importantly, it uses significantly less energy to produce and creates demand for recycled materials.
