Amorphous panels are shade-resistant which means their output does not drop significantly when part of the module is covered by shade. It is due to these two reasons that amorphous solar panels are better suited to portable solar applications than mono-crystalline and poly-crystalline panels. Monocrystalline and polycrystalline panels offer higher efficiency generally, so amorphous modules are generally best for portable applications.

What Voltage Are Amorphous Panels?

Amorphous modules are mostly 12 volt modules to cater for 12V power systems in RV’s and motor homes. Amorphous modules can be linked in parallel to maintain a 12V system or can be linked in series to create a 24V system (or even higher if necessary).
