Change your Perspective - 1 day a month
After great success and feedback from "The Plastic Diet" we have decided to implement a community based day every month that aims to generate awareness around our actions and get people talking. We have decided to call it the “Todae Monthly Eco-Challenge”
The idea is to have a different challenge every month that only lasts for one day, without being too taxing or compromising, but that will still make a significant difference if everyone gets involved. It will occur on the 1st day of every month to make it easy to remember the date. We would love to get your ideas on what you think may be effective and fun. Please send your ideas to thoughts@todae.com.au

'Manage your Meat Month'
According to ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, going vegetarian is the single most important thing you can do for the planet. The Australian Conservation Foundation takes a softer approach, suggesting that you reduce your meat consumption by one meal each week. Essentially, the message is the same. Food makes up the largest single part of our eco footprint - about 35% for Australians. Beef especially, is high impact because it requires significant amounts of water, land and grain. the ACF says 200 litres of water are needed to produce a single 150g steak - that's more than one person uses in an entire week of showers!
We are challenging you to 'manage your meat' and go vegetarian one night a week. It may be tough at first, but you can create some tasty recipes and experiment with some new and exciting food.
We encourage you to do this exercise with friends and family and get them involved as well. This will make it easier, more fun and the more people that do it, the more impact it will have.
We also encourage you to write to us telling about your experience so we can share it with others.
Good luck,
Danin & The Todae Team
